Eternal Moments

Afterwards, we lay together:
Our breathing heavy, in rhythm, as one

My fingertips traced the length of your spine,
Caressed the nape of your neck,
Your sweet, flowing hair;
We kissed, your tender lips encompassing mine,
And the tips of our tongues embraced softly, as if the first time;
Your breath, on my cheek, as I licked the salt-sweat from your shoulder,
The curve of your breast,
Stirred, in my heart, more emotion than words can suggest

Till we drifted away, held close in each others’ arms, whole:
These are the moments engraved for all time on my soul.

About Fles

Early middle-aged (oh yes I am!), no longer long-haired but still speccy and decidedly still an increasingly opinionated git. I’m basically a believer in individualism, that everybody has their own perspective and inner-beauty. I try to find humour in every situation. I enjoy reading and writing poetry.
